All About Illuvium:
Illuvium is an open-world RPG adventure game built on the Ethereum Blockchain. You are the survivor of a transport vessel in an intergalactic space fleet, investigating a distress beacon. In game, players will journey across a vast landscape on their quest to hunt and capture godlike creatures called Illuvials. After landing on an alien planet, players discover the cause of a legendary cataclysm that shattered the world ages ago.
According to the co-creator Kieran Warwick, Illuvium will closely resemble Pokemon, with an “auto battle” feature. Players will collect the “Illuvials” which they will hunt, train and battle. The Illuvials will also be collectible NFT’s which can be traded for real world currencies. The game will also have play to earn features, with its own token ILV.
Players will collect their Illuvials on what are called “Shards,” sleek crystal slivers that hold the essence of the creature inside–comparable to poke balls in the Pokemon series. The strategy and lore elements in the game will also be somewhat similar, with certain types of shards being used to capture different types of Illuvials. It’s easy to see a future where the next trend is to compete with your friends and flaunt rare, shiny, cosmic, and holo Illuvial types.

The original launch date for Illuvium was scheduled for Q4 2021, but as with most of these NFT games, the project has been delayed. There is talk of an open Beta version, in which every asset you collect in the game you will still get to keep. It looks like the beta version may come out in early 2022, with the full game being released sometime later in 2022. The mobile launch is expected to happen after the PC release in 2022, with plans for console versions after that.
